The word "positive" in our name refers to our goal to make training as         pleasant as possible for dogs. 

My first love is of course: dogs,obedience, positive dog training. My passion is being creative about breaking down and shaping dog behaviors in a positive, proactive approach. The mission of Jeffery's Positive Dog Training is to effectively teach dog owners how to build a positive relationship, erecting a line of communication with their dogs and train in a positive and non-punishing way to promote success in whatever their goals may be.

The objective of Jeffery's Positive Dog Training is to offer a gratifying experience for both people and dogs while achieving desired training goals. This is accomplished by using positive reinforcement methods based on proven scientific principles. The approach utilizes a combination of three main elements: (1) training by reinforcing appropriate behaviors, (2) management to prevent the repetition of inappropriate behaviors, and (3) relationship building by making you the center of activities and desired resources in your dog’s life.

A key component in all successful interactions with our canine companions is the ability to establish clear and consistent channels of communication.

My training methods are tailored to the unique temperament and personality of each dog. My positive training program will help your dog achieve his/her fullest potential.

Most of us have a dog because we want a companion for ourselves or our children.

An unruly dog or puppy is no fun to be around. Many a dog has been tossed out into the back yard, becoming a bigger nuisance to family members and neighbors alike, because he couldn't follow the "rules of the house."

A large majority of dog trainers are now using Positive Reinforcement Training Techniques these days.

(I applaud them all!)

However, there are many who are still using the more traditional training methods, many of them, most likely, believing that dogs trained using positive methods will only "work for food". This is simply not true, if done correctly, training with positive reinforcement teaches dogs to be happy, enthusiastic workers regardless of whether or not food is present!
